Birch and cork oak trees grow here alongside Siberian chrysanthemums, daisies, wild vegetables and medicinal herbs.

Four observation decks await you along the forest paths. The Lake Lookout offers a sweeping view of Hoengseong Lake; the Mountain Lookout overlooks Hoengseong's four celebrated mountains—Taegisan, Cheongtaesan, Chiaksan and Eodapsan—in the fresh forest air.

Simply gazing out at the mountains and lake from these open spaces can feel restorative.

We are on section 3 of the Hoengseong Lake Trail, the Healing Trail, facing section 5 and Manghyang Hill across the lake.

History and the Story of the Forest Keeper

Hwajeon-ri, home to Noa Forest, is a village long known for its flowers and the discovery of Paleolithic artifacts. Eodapsan and Gapcheon hold legends of Bak Hyeokgeose, the founder of Silla, and King Taegi, the last king of Jinhan.

In 2015, a former banker moved to this mountain village after retirement, at the age of 63, and began caring for Noa Forest.
